​In 2024, Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector achieved a significant milestone, handling 128 million passengers—a 45.8% increase since the launch of Vision 2030 in 2016. This surge underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to transforming its transport ecosystem and establishing itself as a global logistics and aviation hub. During the same year, airports across the country operated 905,000 flights and managed 1.2 million tonnes of cargo, reflecting robust growth in both passenger and freight operations.
To further enhance connectivity, Saudi Arabia introduced over 60 new routes in 2024 through its Air Connectivity Program, attracting 12 new international carriers to operate in various Saudi cities. These developments are integral to the Kingdom’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and boost tourism, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030. The expansion of air routes and increased airline participation not only facilitate greater international access but also position Saudi Arabia as a central node in global air travel and commerce.
