The new Al-Jouf International Airport in northern Saudi Arabia has officially commenced full operations, marking a major enhancement in regional aviation capacity. The facility replaces the old airport and now offers an annual passenger capacity of 1.6 million, representing more than an 800 % increase over its predecessor’s throughput, and positioning the region for expanded domestic and international air travel. The modern terminal, built to international standards, features multiple check-in counters, departure and arrival gates, passport control lanes, and ample parking, reflecting investment in passenger experience and operational efficiency.

Designed to support economic growth and connectivity, the airport incorporates elements that highlight the cultural identity of the Al-Jouf Region while enhancing its integration into Saudi Arabia’s broader civil aviation network. The seamless transfer of flights from the old airport to the new facility underscores coordinated planning among aviation authorities, aligning with national development goals and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a competitive aviation hub.
