Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector is set for another milestone year in 2026, with plans to launch routes to more than 30 new destinations, expanding the Kingdom’s global air connectivity to at least 206 destinations worldwide. The growth reflects continued investment in airport capacity, route development, and private sector participation as aviation remains a core pillar of national economic expansion.
The momentum builds on a record-breaking 2025, when Saudi airports handled more than 140 million passengers, supported by rising international connectivity and strong flight growth. Major hubs such as King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh led performance, while Saudi Arabia maintained several of the world’s busiest air routes, reinforcing its role as a key global aviation connector.
Looking ahead, new airline launches, expanded international services, and large-scale airport developments including King Salman International Airport are set to drive further capacity growth. As regional passenger traffic continues to rise, Saudi Arabia is strengthening its position as one of the Middle East’s most dynamic and strategically important aviation markets heading into 2026 and beyond.
