MATARAT Holding has reported that more than 6.8 million passengers traveled through four major Saudi airports during the recent peak Umrah season. These included King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Yanbu Airport, and Taif International Airport. Over 4.6 million of these passengers were international visitors.
The surge in traffic highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing capacity to support large-scale religious travel and seasonal demand. It also underlines the strategic importance of its airport infrastructure in connecting pilgrims from across the globe—reinforcing the Kingdom’s role as a key aviation gateway for religious tourism.
