Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has taken a major step in enhancing air cargo security with the inauguration of the Air Cargo Security Control Center in Riyadh. Led by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to strengthen air cargo security across the Kingdom using advanced monitoring technologies. By linking the center to all approved air cargo agencies, GACA ensures real-time oversight of security procedures, reinforcing the safety and efficiency of air transport operations.
The facility features a 24/7 remote inspection and monitoring system that allows centralized supervision of air cargo supply chains. Covering 40 accredited agencies across four key regions, the center is integrated with major airports, enabling seamless coordination and risk management. With cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and advanced risk analysis, shipments are tracked from the moment they arrive at cargo agencies until they reach their final destinations, significantly improving logistics security and efficiency.
As part of its broader digital transformation strategy, GACA remains dedicated to modernizing Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector and fostering a competitive business environment.
