At Routes World 2025, Majid Khan, CEO of Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program, presented the Kingdom’s comprehensive roadmap to strengthen air connectivity and accelerate tourism growth under Vision 2030. The program, launched in 2021, plays a central role in positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading global hub for air travel and tourism by establishing direct routes to 33 key markets worldwide.
To date, the initiative has launched 73 new routes, added 4.5 million passenger seats, and attracted 17 international airlines, including Virgin Atlantic, Cathay Pacific, and China Eastern Airlines. These efforts are driving the Kingdom’s goal to welcome 150 million tourists and achieve 30 million aviation passengers annually by 2030.
As Saudi Arabia continues expanding its air networks and investing in world-class airport infrastructure, sustainability and innovation remain key priorities in shaping its tourism and aviation future.
Global Airports Forum 2025 will provide the ideal platform for industry leaders to explore these opportunities, form strategic partnerships, and discuss the next phase of growth in the world’s new aviation hub.
