Riyadh Air has officially received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), marking its readiness to commence scheduled flights across Saudi Arabia. This milestone positions the airline to contribute significantly to the country’s workforce and economy by creating over 200,000 direct and indirect jobs across aviation, logistics, and tourism sectors by 2030. With plans to fly to more than 100 international destinations and a fleet of over 132 aircraft, Riyadh Air is poised to play a vital role in transforming Saudi Arabia into a global aviation hub.
Aligned with the Kingdom’s National Aviation Strategy and Vision 2030, Riyadh Air is expected to add SAR75 billion to the non-oil GDP. GACA emphasized the airline’s role in enhancing international connectivity, supporting workforce development, and attracting global investment into the aviation sector.
