Eng. Rana Algowaiz

Rana Algowaiz, a dynamic leader with more than 15 years’ experience in government, private, and NGO sectors, developing collaborations and strategic initiatives across startups and public sectors. A business development executive with a focus on strategic partnerships and operational growth, she has contributed to the growth of logistics and export-oriented initiatives.

Currently, Rana's leadership as Executive Director, Saudia Cargo has undertaken a high-impact portfolio of initiatives to enhance exports, create essential industry partnerships, and develop solutions that drive operational efficiencies and boost market share. Rana algowaiz, is a firm believer that "cargo is more than just logistics", it is the lifeblood of international trade Which strengthens the local and international economy, therefore she is empowering cargo to facilitate community development, boost global connectivity and initiate partnerships.

Previously, At the Strategic Management Office, Rana successfully organized the new Global Sport Conference for the international sport industry, providing an organizational structure to ensure smooth execution and presence at executive level.

Outside of the aviation sector, she has been involved in government initiatives with the Ministry of Commerce with His Excellency Dr. Majid Al Qasabi working on e-commerce frameworks and regulatory refinements with Her Excellency Dr. Eman Al-Mutairi, Vice Minister of Commerce. Her work optimizing e-commerce operations for streamlined trade and logistics across Saudi Arabia provided a necessary foundation for tackling the severe pandemic impacts.

Rana was a key contributor to youth tech initiatives and the record-breaking Hajj Hackathon which was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest hackathon in the world. On the Saudi Federation (NGO) she contributed to innovation. She brings experience from Nokia and other entities with a focus on data governance, corporate leadership, and operational transformation, helping to drive strategic evolution within complex ecosystems.

Rana Algowaiz holds a master’s degree in engineering management from California State University in the USA, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from King Saud University. She is certified in management consulting, therefore, graduated from The Ernie Schaeffer Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship in the USA
