Andrew Thomas

Andrew is a highly experienced leader, with extensive expertise in aviation and transport design. His most recent projects, leading multidisciplinary design teams, include the new Noida International Airport, the expansion of Athens International Airport, Heathrow Expansion and the award-winning Istanbul New Airport which was recently recognised as World's Best Airport by Conde Nast Traveller. 

Understanding the complexity of large-scale infrastructure, in design and delivery, Andy is passionate about bringing forward innovative solutions and construction methods which enable projects to meet their ambitions whatever the scale. Through a number of globally significant rail projects, including the Fulton Center in New York and Euston Railway Station in London, he has led significant design consultation programmes which successfully integrate infrastructure development into the wider city context, for greater local social, environmental and economic transformation. 

Currently leading Grimshaw's London studio, Andy has worked across the UK, Europe, the US and Asia. His responsibilities span the discipline of architectural practice, moving the profession forward through design excellence, technology integration and empowering more diverse teams and collaboration.
