Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) has appointed Turner & Townsend to design and implement an enterprise-wide asset management system for King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA).

The programme aims to create a unified approach to managing the airport’s terminals, airfield infrastructure, baggage systems and building services throughout their entire lifecycle—from investment and operations to maintenance and renewal.

Key developments include:

  • JEDCO and Turner & Townsend completed an assessment against all ISO 55001 requirements.
  • An Asset Management Policy has been approved in Arabic and English.
  • An executive-level governance structure has been established.
  • A Strategic Asset Management Plan and asset management plans for critical airport systems are being developed.
  • The programme focuses on balancing cost, risk, performance, sustainability and resilience.
  • Training, workshops and knowledge transfer will strengthen asset-management capabilities across JEDCO.
  • The initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy.

Rather than focusing solely on achieving ISO 55001 certification, JEDCO says the programme is intended to embed data-driven, lifecycle-based asset management into everyday decision-making, helping support the airport’s future growth and operational resilience
