Saudi Arabia’s US$30 billion King Salman International Airport has reached a major construction milestone with the groundbreaking of its third runway. The new runway will increase hourly aircraft movements by 31% (from 65 to 85) and supports the airport’s ambition to handle 120 million passengers annually by 2030, rising to 185 million by 2050. With six planned runways, seven terminals, and a strategic location connecting Europe and Asia, KSIA is set to become one of the world’s largest and most significant global aviation hubs.
