Several airports under Cluster 2 Airports have earned prestigious Carbon Accreditation from Airports Council International, showcasing their growing commitment to environmental sustainability and greener aviation operations. Arar Airport achieved the advanced Level 4+ accreditation, reflecting its strong efforts to reduce carbon emissions in line with international best practices.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan, along with Najran, Sharurah, Wadi Al-Dawasir, and Al-Wajh airports, secured Level 2 accreditation for demonstrating measurable progress in carbon reduction initiatives. These achievements support Saudi Arabia’s broader sustainability ambitions under the Saudi Green Initiative and the Civil Aviation Environmental Sustainability Program.
